Default 350 Build

Hey yall, I know there is tons of information out there on building engines. I'm a novice and this is my first real build so I'm hoping to find some encouragement and opinions on what I'm doing.

I'm looking to build a 350 v8 in the neighborhood of 350ish HP to put in my 4 door Jimmy. To start I have a 98' 350 vortec block with ~148k miles that is stock. Here is what I'm looking to add:

Edelbrock Vortec AirGap intake - https://www.summitracing.com/parts/e...make/chevrolet
Holley 650 carb - https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-0-4777sae
Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 206/212 - https://www.compcams.com/xtreme-ener...oller-sbc.html
S10 v8 headers - https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performa...QaArPLEALw_wcB

Is this off to a good start? From what I've read I should come close to my performance target range with just these parts. Not looking to rebuild the heads, but depending on prices and if it's worth it I may consider it.

Thanks for any and all comments!

What year is your Jimmy, and what engine is in it now? If it's a Vortec 4.3, it's really easy to keep the fuel injection on the 350. No reason to switch to a carb.

It's a 95 Jimmy. The bastard year first gen spider injection with OBD 1.5. I know I can keep the stock fuel injection with a lot of work done to the electrical, but I've read going carb with a built 700r4 would be easier. Unless I go with an aftermarket stand-alone TBI kit.

That and I'm going for the "vintage" look of a carb system.

Not looking building a racing rig, just a decent offroader and travel rig hauling small trailers. Going to be running jeep axles on 33s.
