Sounds like a plan.
As for the tranny, yes your tranny will bolt up to a V8 and it will survive just fine. Teh only difference between the 4.3 version of the tranny and the SBC V8 version is the number of clutches in the clutch packs. When you rebuild your tranny, later in life, you can "upgrade" it to the same number of clutches as a V8. They come in the rebuild kit.

RE: 350 swap?
that motor i posted about before is an older style 4.3, will the bottom end of that bolt up to my new top end? i think the only difference is the intake systems.

Hey everyone, just letting everyone know, i found a motor for my blazer, its a 4.3 Vortec, W Code, will bolt right in, im going to look at it tonight and make sure it runs right. thanks for help to everyone that helped me out.
