4.3 engine out of a 2001

Default 4.3 engine out of a 2001

hello I have a 1996 blazer 4wd with a 4.3 and I need to know if a 4.3 long block out of 2001 blazer will work in my 96 thanks

Only issue is the knock sensor mounting hole may be different. 2001 is the year where they changed knock sensors - midyear I understand. Other than that, switch all the manifolds and other stuff from your old motor and you are golden. There are adapters specifically for the knock sensor problem. I have not used any of them but here is one that would adapt your old sensor to a later block if there is a need. https://www.google.ca/search?q=knock...eLz4iBbfpVwytM: You will need to have a crank sensor relearn done after all is finished to store info for the new setup, or the SES light may be on with a P030x code.
