4.3L starter for a 5.7L V8?
Before my S10 Blazer was laid to rest I took some parts off that were new. One of which was the starter. Now on my new truck ('93 K1500 Suburban 5.7L V8) the starter is going bad. I'm wonder if I can use the starter from my S10 Blazer on my Suburban. Online I've seen an equal amount of people saying yes and no. The guy at Advance said no as well but that may be to just try and get a sale off me. He was also talking about having to know weather I have a large or small opening on the starter but I've now read that it doesn't really matter (and that one is just better for off roading).

ive been told you can due to the 4.3 basically being a 5.7 block with just 2 cylinders chopped off.
im to lazy to look but check out autozone.com search the starter for both vehicles and see if the same part number comes up. or pull yours out and compare, but look very closely there can be minor differences that can cause it not to work, different teeth, or different placement of the gears.
