One more try on #4 plug hole for better pics, but with a Droid Cell Phone this is best can do.. these are the new plugs, had 4 of six in, on #4 finger tip screw in spun it a lot, and would never go in hole to thread up as should, then is when got phone to take pics of why, and as said no old plugs threads was Boogered up, and all old 6 matched wear and looks..
so finishing up about the 2 plugs, after 1st one didn't screw in , It went into #2 hole no problem even with thread end sorta messed up from trying in #4. so just this #4 plug hole is keeping me from getting back to original issue of fuel pump and no run motor... wasn't for this crap happening, Blazer should of been Buzzing.. only thing I can figure it plug blew out? and stripped hole.. but cant be if had to unscrew like always over years?? any way had a break in storms and did as best could with recent pics w/o taking wheel off. thanks
Tom 1st pic I posted, all 6 old plugs I screwed out identical side by side.. and the #4 new plug never go in just spin around and sorta messed up the start thread on 1st plug, then I grabbed a 2nd new one same thing. put one of the 2 into hole #2 and it like the cylinders 1.3.5.6 ,2 all screwed in as should. And new plug tried in #4 isn't a fall in hole at all , just no thread for plug to go in.. So weird as that old plug had a very itsy bitsy ( hair thin strand ) on plug thread when took out of socket . before new plug just spin then the picture taken at the time to see why..
well wife thinks he will have the shop that replaced the tranny with a used rebuilt, have them do the thread repair in frame they Quoted $225- $250.00 … If head taken off $1,600.00 .. and I know the latter be better to take both heads and intake off and replace all gaskets .. But I'm sure that shop run about price of a jasper rebuild lolo.. if they did whole top and new gaskets.. So it sits till she makes up her mind.. I've got to get the Gumption up and get back to work on my Dodge 4x4 and get it Going.. been sitting too long..
In picture 1 and 2 the heat shield looks to be sagged down just a bit and may be what looks to be the dipstick too. If that is so it will angle the plug slightly as you try to start it.
edit - how ever by running clear back to the very first picture in this post if that is #4 that's not the case.
May have been a repaired head with a plug nut cert. you may try running a plug tap in and chase the threads.
finally got plug in #4 .neighbor was home , and had time, he's over the road trucking. But had a 14mm tap and used wd40 and rethreaded the hole and got plug in for me .. So it still sitting due to weather and I get a nw wire set for ti. so hope fully get it going again before fall .
