Default 4L60e question

I have a 2001 Chevy blazer 4.3L 2WD and I have a spare transmission that I would like to rebuild and use in this truck. However, the spare transmission I have is a 4L60e with a 4SDD Code, if I decoded it correctly it is for a 2004 Trailblazer with the 4.2L engine 2WD. I know the bell housing on the spare trans is different from the 2001 blazer because it has the extra hole on the top center where the blazer does not. Can I swap the bell housing and use my 2001 torque converter on this spare trans? I don't know if the input shaft is the same or not. I only paid $80 for the trans so it's not a big loss if I can't use it. Any help will be appreciated.

Input shafts are diffrent. The 2004transmission would work with the correct converter.

any idea what convertor I can use? is the difference that the input shaft is longer or that it is splined differently?

After thinking on this, you may run into trouble with the pump stator may be longer as you fall in the 2004 year. The bell housing for the 4.2 is deeper and the stator is longer. More than likely won’t work. Sorry for the misinformation.

Ok, so I measured the bell housing on both, they are both 7 1/4" deep , the gm tech I talked to said swap the housing and use the v6 converter and it'll work. He stayed from 99-2005 4l60e were the same. I'm just confused. But I do know this housing is the same depth as the one I have installed.

You may be good to go. I just know that there are some parts that won’t interchange. Good luck. Let us know how it works out.
