I had decided to go reman., instead of rebuild. But was quoted $3,000 CAN, with core exchange, for a reman. with NO upgraded parts (Pro Auto Recyclers)! They've gotta be kidding! That would put the whole job a bit over $4,000 for a NON-upgraded 4L60e, I mean WTH??

I then called a local shop with great reviews, and they quoted $1,065 to install it (they're $120/hr). The owner tried to talk me into a rebuild, instead. And asked why I wanted a remanufactured one. I replied, warranties for rebuilt don't go over 12 months, which is completely unacceptable. For remanned....3 years, minimum (like anyone needs a better reason...duhh). He then said he would rebuild and MATCH the warranty of that remanned one.....3 year / 160,000KM; for $3,695 CAN, with the necessary upgraded parts (Sunshell etc) included. And asked me to send him a list of upgraded parts I wanted. I haven't gotten back to him, yet; but this below, is the list I've made. And I had told him it wasn't for high performance, but reliability. FYI, I don't do offroading, and very little towing. It has a cooler.

• Better Sunshell - "Sonnax Smartshell", or the cheaper "The Beast", is fine.
• Replace the steels.
• Replace Belleville plate in reverse input drum with a waved style (issues sealing the bleed hole, so is good practice).
• Replace every lip seal/o-ring/gasket/teflon seals/transfer case output seal.
• Solenoid.
• All new bushings (check for excessive wear in ridings).
• H.Q. Torque converter.
• Borg Warner dual-cage Forward Sprag.
• Corvette servo.
• 5-gear planetaries, AC Delco only.
• A quality 3/4 clutch pack with 7 or 8 frictions.
• New hardened separator plate (Transgo?).
• Replace any accumulator pistons with metal or Sonnax pinless.
• Transgo SK Shift kit.
• Full electronics kit.
• Strengthen input drum.
• Full synthetic fluid.
• Flush oil cooler lines.
• Remove torque management from PCM.

Hoping for help with whether this is a good price for this list or not. And does the list make sense for me; leave/add/change anything? Please comment.
