Default 4l60e shift linkage interchange years

Ok, I understand since I have a '95 Jimmy my transmission is basically a stand alone year and can't interchange with any other year (if I don't want to do any modifications).

Now, after a month of online research I can't find any information on shift linkage interchange, especially for '95. Is there anybody that can tell me the differences of the shift linkage for the 4L60E along the years up to the end of these models ? Also, does the difference of 2 door and 4 door effect the difference? Or the differnece of 2WD and 4WD ?

Trying to pull a shift linkage/cable from a salvage yard ASAP... Also, does anyone know how to remove and install the shifter linkage/cable and install one ? If so, what tools will I need ? Thanks in advance guys !

All these say '95-'97 4WD Column Shift Cable. Maybe those are the interchangable years ? And I guess 2 door and 4 door make no difference ?

OK I went to the junkyard yesterday and the closet truck I could find ('95 - '97, Column Shifter, 4WD) was a '99 Column Shifter 4WD. There were none '95 -'96 and the '97's I found were not 4WD...

I took a look at the shifter cable on this '99 Blazer shift cable and don't really see any difference from the shifter cable on '95-'97's. Then again I'm still learning as I go along. I've researched the difference in this cables and can't find a solid answer. Any transmission experts that can tell me why wouldn't this '99 shift cable wouldn't replace my '95 shift cable ?

I don't see too much of a difference, except the '99 is a little thicker.

What about the ends that attach to the ball on the shift lever and linkage on the transmission ? Will the '99 attachment ends on the cable attach to those connector ***** on my '95 ?

What about length ? Is that '99 Blazer cable too long or too short for my '95 Jimmy ? Both vehicles are 2dr and 4WD...
