Default 4x4 to 2wd cnversion

hello am glad to find this this site. my tranny went bad finally got it out now I have a 96 2wd installed which was alot eaiser to deal with since I didnt have to deal with the transfer case. My question is there anything I should look out for before completing this job. I am putting a 96 4l60e 2wd n place of a 4wd 97 4l60e any help is apreciated thanks cant wait to get back on the road

You may find out that the cross member doesn't line up, your transfer case won't mate up and your drive shafts no longer fit. You should be able to use the adapter off your old tranny to fix the problem of mounting the transfer case, providing you saved it. The problem with all the 4L60E's that are out there is that there aren't direct swaps. Minor differences in overall length and mounting holes. I haven't done what you are trying and this is why I said you may have problems. Hopefully, someone else that knows more of the specifics will chime in.

hey thanks for the advise iam gonna try an match up crossmeber today. thank alot though...
