Unhappy 4X4 while not engage

I have tried to use the search tool here to find my answere and the only thing I could come up with was a vacum hose for the 4x4. The issue with my 2002 blazer is that the when you push any of the 4 wheel buttons 4hi 4lo or 4x4 auto, it will blink but will not engage. It did this once before and the Chevy dealership told me that it was my vacum line going to my transfer case(?). I have tried searching for this hose and could not find it or a picture, can anyone help?

I did find a vacum hose located behind the distributor that is not connected to anything, I tried to find where it is suppose to go and could not find it. It is coming from the passenger side, right beside/behind the dist. and is about 8 inches long (from dist. to end).

Any help is appreciated, last time I had to pay $80.00 at chevy for them to "take a look".

Can anyone at least tell me what the most common issue is and where to begin?

I dont know if yours is the same, but under the battery there is a vacume motor that goed bad alot. You need to remove the battery and battery box to get to it.
It is quite comman for this to fail. Good luck.
