i have an 02 blazer 4x4 and my mass air flow sensor is shot and one of my buddy’s got a 99 Silverado 5.3 and I was wondering if the mass air flow sensors are the same or similar and could work in my blazer

 

I believe they are the same but let someone else chime in. Lesmyer?

 

well that gets my hopes up and should be a lot cheaper than buying an oem sensor

 

Hmmm - I really don't know that. If it was mine, I would check Rock Auto for the two vehicles and if they take the same part numbers, then they are the same.

 

The 5.3 sensor is physically different. I had to buy a new one when i swapped my blazer to a 5.3

S10s use a 3 wire MAF and 5.3s use a 5 wire MAF. I believe this is because the IAT sensor is built into the MAF on the 5.3 and the s10s have a separate IAT.

 

I apologize the 4.3 5.0 and 5.7 appear to be the same.
