Default 71 Blazer ~ Caramelized Gas

So, my 71 Blazer has been parked in my yard for maybe 20 years. She was beautiful lawn art.

With a new battery & carb, she fired on starting fluid but wouldn't run. Pulled the fuel line and turned it over but she wasn't spitting fuel so I swapped in a new fuel pump. Ok, I finally got the fuel pumping but it's dark, dark brown! Yikes! My fuel stabilizer must've been overwhelmed.

Dropped the fuel tank and found this mess. Man, that fuel pickup was bad. Looked like I pulled if from the Titanic or something.

Does anyone else have experience? I was thinking of a new tank but should I also be flushing the fuel lines?

LOL

I would suggest

new tank
new pump
new pickup
new lines
complete carb rebuild

Ha, I was afraid you'd say that I'm with you on tank, pump & pickup but would I be able to get by with this approach for the lines?

I'm not sure I have the skill and patience to bend & run all that line :/
