Default 88 Jimmy belt squeak

Hello everyone, new member looking for some help on my new vehicle. I have an 88 GMC Jimmy full size with the TBI 350 engine. I have a belt squeak that won't go away on the thing. The belts are all new, and the bearings all felt good when putting on the new belts. I had my mechanic check it out also and he couldn't find anything wrong. I didn't know if we are missing something, or if I should just live with it. I haven't tried spraying on belt dressing yet, but have considered that also. Any tips? Thanks for your help.

I had a belt squeal I was having a hard time figuring out. Turned out to be the bearing on the tensioner pulley.

DO NOT USE BELT DRESSING! Made mine squeak horribly, worse than before, and I ended up having to wash all of that stuff off of the pulleys. Get a Gatorback belt. It fixed my problem, and if you surf the forum, you will see that it has fixed many others too.

Thanks, mine turned out to be the serpentine belt. I didn't get a Gatorback but it worked for now. I plan on getting a spare to keep in my tool bag in the Jimmy, I will be sure to get a Gatorback for that one. Thanks again for the help.

No problem. Hopefully it will remain silent
