89 Chevy Blazer Scottsdale 700R4 Transmission leak indicator?
I've got an 89 Chevy Blazer Scottsdale with a 700R4 Tranny. I was wondering if this model has a leak indicator of any kind? By that I mean is there a designated hole between where the tranny meets the transfer case (NP241C) to show if you have a leak from a seal between the two? I ask because I have an ATF leak and I think it is from the tranny into the transfer case. The transfer case appears to be overfilling and leaking from higher than the fill plug when it's not running/hasn't been driven for weeks. The transmission then naturally loses fluid from just sitting and there's no fluid anywhere except on the transfer case and everywhere behind it. I tested my theory by wiping the area clean and setting a large piece of cardboard under the transfer case and tranny. After a few days there was only a couple drops under the transfer case. Then a couple days later there was an enormous puddle and the transmission was of course low on fluid. I'm positive all I need to do is remove the transfer case and replace both the transmission output/input seal and the same for the transfer case, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious. I watched a few videos on other transmissions and I saw that some have a hole designed to drip to show you if there is a leak in your seals. Thank you for any help/info you can provide.
You have a failed transfer case input seal. You will need to remove transfer case and replace the seal and new gasket on extension housing. The transmission and transfer case do not share fluid.you will need the parts in the pictures below.

I like to remove the 4 10mm head bolts and remove the flange and change seal while it is off. Just will have to clean the surface on the flange and case and apply some RTV sealant.
Please feel free to contact me on Facebook at my page for any questions you may have as I am on there more than on this forum. So I can answer much faster. Good luck

sorry, this is it. I don't know why I can't figure how to attach pictures. It's not a link to a virus I swear. It's the kit I bought on eBay. It has a few less deals that's the last picture I sent.
