Default 91 s10 blazer transmission problem-

I have a 91 s10 blazer 4.3tbi 4x4 Auto . I was driving it tonight to a family members house when I went to back into there drive way I went to move the shifter up it to go in reverse. it moved freely like there was nothing there so I messed with it for a few mins and it started to work again. so I said OK must just be me then i left my family house and it drove fine up till I went to back in my drive way. the thing was moving freely but now i can only get it in to reverse neutral, over drive, drive and 2 and 1. I know kinda a lot about cars but this kinda trick me. The only thing i can come up with is the linkage is messed. any advice will be appreciated. thanks alot Joe

Glad oyu got it fixed.
SLoppy linkage is usually due to worn out or missing parts. Maybe something fell off when the cotter pin fell out.
