Default 94 blazer s10!!! major help needed

I just inherited my step dad's old blazer. He told me that it needed a new water pump and breaks... no problem on the breaks I can do that.
The thing is my trasmission is sort of slipping but not really slipping. It starts fine and ever shifts great for the most point but it just does not seem to have the power that I know it should and when ever I am first starting out it softly bucks just enough that I feel it in the gas petal but others riding with me dont notice it.
I know that my water pump is the reason that my coolent is empty EVERY day and why my oil is burning. Is it possible that the problem is from my water pump to my coolent to my radiator and yet then again to my tranny??? I have an appointment to have the water pump replaced next friday... and also this monday I am taking it in to have the tranny and radiator checked out but is there anything that I could do myself to fix the problem either temperarily or even permintly???
Or at least something I should check to know for myself what is going on before going into the macanics.

Also is$120.00 a desent price for a water pump and labor???

Thanks for the help.

$120 is probably pretty fair. The water pump itself is probably about $75, and by the time you tack on a hour of labor you're right there.

I could get a water pump for probably under 50 for a Vortec but, no 120 with labor isnt too bad.
