Default 94 Chevy problem

I have a 94 Chevy S10 Blazer and while i had been driving home yesterday my vehicle was having trouble shifting gears. I'd have to let off the gas every so often to get it to accelerate anymore. Then at one point i couldn't speed up faster then 30 mph, the odometer would stop there but i could hear the engine revving up. After a couple minutes the odometer would drop slowly and all that would happen when i push the gas pedal would be hearing the engine rev up. I had only been about a mile from home and had to stop and turn off my vehicle for a few minutes and start up and go 20 mph but even going that slow my vehicle would still die after so many feet. I'm wondering if this could be anything small and cheap that i could fix myself or is it my transmission and is it gonna cost me a lot.

It sure sounds like your transmission is toast.. Did you check your transmission fluid level? Does it work in any other gears?
