Hi all,
New to the forum and hoping to find some help with my truck. I have a 94 S10 2WD with a 4.3L V6. I have been having idling problems that I can't seem to solve. The only code it is throwing is the 35 code and I have replace the IAC twice now, cleared the codes and it runs okay for a few miles then throws the code again and continues to have the same problem. I am certaint that I put the IAC in correctly and measured with a micrometer to make sure it was correct and I'm getting frustrated.
What it is doing: When I start the truck it starts just fine and idles great. However when I put the engine under a load (i.e. shift into reverse, sometimes when I shift into drive, turn on the AC or crank the wheel all the way to one side or the other) at idle it bogs down, trys to rev up to keep from stalling but ultimately stalls. It doesn't always do this all the time and sometimes even when I come to a stop light it will do the same thing. I'm thinking it is either the wiring from the computer to IAC or the computer circuit itself but I am not sure. Was also thinking it might be an intake leak... would this do the same thing? Have the same randomness? Otherwise it runs great and is and for having 155,000 miles is an awesome truck!
Please help a frustrated mechanic.
Thanks,
Geoff West
