Default 95 blazer with flashing check engine light

I am new to this forum, and i orginally posted this in the new mwmber forum, and didn't think is was in the correct location. i am sorry if this got posted twice.

i have a 95 blazer, according to the VIN, it is a 4.3L v6 with CPI. the check engine light was on with a code of 1406. it was running fine until the light came on. i replaced the EGR valve. i reset the the system and i no longer have any codes. now when i drive the check engine light flashes and the engine runs very bad. i have changed the plugs, PCV valve, air filter. after driving for about 10 - 15 min, the light stops flashing, but it still runs very rough. my research says the flashing check engine light means misfire, but with out any codes how do i know what is causing the problem. i wasn't having any problems before the 1406 trouble code.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

flashing SES light does mean it has a massive miss fire, it should throw a code though. double check all the vacuum line and anything that may have broken while replacing the EGR
