95 Blazer s10 4.3 vortec starting problem
I would like some advice and help with with my engine trouble. The trouble started with: I had to give it a shot of starting fluid to get it to start in the mornings and it runs and drives great, but after it sets for over a couple of hours I have to give it a shot of fluid again to start it.
So far I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel tank, new spider injuctor with regulator, ignition module cap and rotor. I also checked for power at the fuel pump connector when the tank was out and at the relay, and I have 12 volt power. Then I checked for spark, and I have it on the compression stroke, and when I push on the fuel test port, gas sprays out under pressure. The only thing is, I can not hear the fuel pump run at all. When I give it a shot of starting fluid, the engine will start and run smooth for a couple of seconds.
My question is, What have I over looked or not done yet to get this Truck back on the road. Thank you

There is one thing I noticed you have not done.....check your fuel pressure! And see what you have and post your results. Also, when you are checking the pressure.....leave the tester on and see how long it takes the pressure to bleed off....sounds like you have a fuel leak somewhere.....either at the spider assem. connection, press. regulator or at the fuel pump pulser or hose.

I did not have any luck finding a fuel preassure gauge yet. When I get one I will check it out and post my findings. Thanks

Well Frog, I got it going. It ended up being the sending unit that the pump attaches to. Droped the tank to see why the new pump was not working. I could not hear anything when it was in the truck, but I had power at the connector. So it was something in the sending unit wiring. Thanks for the help.
