So close to getting this Blazer up and going again. I was going to try and get some movement out of it after the transmission rebuild. I could not move shifter past Reverse. Thought maybe something was wrong in the trans, so I pulled linkage off and can turn shift rod fine.
Cable routing looked a bit tight, so I pulled it out and is now straight coming out of the floor and laying on the ground.
After lots of attempts I am maybe down into Drive. It appears that the cable is rotating inside tubing and binding up. Hopefully it's not damaged now that I've been screwing with it.
Is this common and is there anything I should check or do before attempting to pull the whole cable out?
**Shifted just fine before I removed transmission and I did nothing that should have caused it any damage.**

In my sleep deprived state at work tonight I've decided to try and take the cable apart somewhat and see what's going on inside.
Post-up if this is a bad idea. I'm going to go along with my motto of "It already doesn't work, so what's the worst that could happen?". That's got me along pretty fine so far in life.
