No matter what i do tho it wont line up perfectly with the #6 on the dist if i put it forward one tooth its too far to the firewall, one tooth the oppisite way its too far away from the firewall but its damn close both ways, and yes the oil drive is lined up... I've tried using the screwdriver tdc check but i cant due to the damn head design. I can leave the dist unplugged and i get no codes at all, and i'm showing there is no cam retard or timing retard its saying its @ zero and doesn't adjust when starting just stays @ zero.
If anyone could help before i go find some c4 i would really really appreciate it.
once again thanks for the replies, and yeah read whats in blue

\I've tried this but its not right on the 6 arrow no matter what i do.... I've set the timing according to the balancer and on compression stroke, but still no go i'm getting a misfire on all 6 cylinders according to the torque app, no codes tho. I dunno what to do i've testing everything i can think of and nothing seems bad. The crank sensors fine, fuel pressures fine, i have plenty of spark so i know the icm/coil, and dist cap/rotor button are good.
Any thing else y'all can think of i would really appreciate the input.
Thanks jbb

Have you considered maybe the balancer slipped on the shaft? I read where a couple guys found their balancer was broken/ rubbery part broke and outer piece turned. Thus they too couldn't get the timing right.

Hope it's an easy fix for ya.

That is precisely what happened... by the time i got it right... or where it would run the balancer was completely opposite of where it should be. also is -31 timing advance bad? thats what my scantool is reading
