Question 96 4.3 V6 problem

When i get around 45-55 Mph it seems to start pulsing. kind of surging forward and letting off and surging forward and letting off. any ideas as to what this could be?

Does this only happen when you go around 40-50? Or does this happen at all ranges of speed?

Try another gear at the same speed... I would start with the fuel filter then the ignition cap and rotor.

I've got a 97 thats doing the same thing... the cap and rotor have been replaced.... when I get to around 45 it starts surging and the tach will rise and fall. I have bosch plugs that will be replaced soon but I don't hink the plugs are the problem. The fuel pump was replaced last yr but I don't know if the shop replaced the filter. Would the filter do it?
