SO i am back again... it is what it is, anytime ive put thsi thang in reverse, i get some mad clicking based on how fast in reverse im going, slow speed, slow click, as well as if i go into park i have to get someone to shake the whole truck to pop it back outta park but thats no biggie, i keep it in neutral at all times, but yeah its been like this since ive gotten the truck, put a new shift linkage cable on it twice, i have all my gears; 1-2 2-3 3-4, as well as overdrive, just cant quite seem to figure out what is making this thing click and i dont reeaaally want to have to replace the pan gasket just to peek around in there
I had clicking in reverse not long before my u joints went on my driveshaft. Had them blow apart while pulling a camper in Pennsylvania, was on a road trip to Florida from Ontario, put a 300 dollar damper on my funds because I had to replace the yoke, seal and driveshaft. But was really happy because it was a cheaper fix with labor then I wouldve paid in canada...
in the end, I haven't had the noise since then, about 2-3 years now I think...
Universal joints would be a good place to start as suggested. Also the parking rod I have pictured is known to break. The piece that has broken off is not a good thing to have loose roaming around in the transmission.
from a quick read, most people with bad or busted prawls also have have no park, i have park, it just gets bound up as if i was on a incline, i dont wanna believe its broken, i just dont know if there is a adjustment for it specifically that doesnt cost over 500 bucks lmao, tbh i dont need park so if thats a option?? lmao
