Well the Radiator shop discovered it is leaking through the intake manifold gasket. The pressure test also forced coolant into the crankcase, so I limped her home and took her to the shop today for repairs. So hopefully the new intake gasket and an oil change and she will be good for a while. Not looking forward to this bill, though.

Well I'm glad they figured it out. I just bought the parts to fix mine, $202. I must admit that I brought the most expensive performance parts the auto store could get, and some preventative parts as well (water pump, serpentine belt). I hope to begin disassembly today after work, and have it done by noon Saturday. Wish me luck!

Got my Blazer back today. The parts were $32 and labor including the oil change was $260. He was able to reuse most of the old coolant as I had just had a radiator flush a month ago. I had the serpentine belt done a couple weeks ago. A Gates belt was $40.

My mechanic said the old intake manifold gasket was badly deteriorated and there was not much left of it. Hopefully I won't have any more trouble with this rig for a while.

Hope you got yours done without any trouble. Apparently it is a pain in the rear to do.

Hey maybe I should go to your mechanic! Or maybe I just took too long... I finished it all this morning. Once I get my pictures loaded on to the computer I'll put some on here. I don't know if your mechanic saved your old gasket to show you, but seeing how it sounds like your leak was worse than mine I couldn't imagine what yours looked like.

Glad you got it taken care of, and I hope there's no more problems for you.

Dark Rider, it looks like it took you about two days. It takes me that long to change the oil, filter and lube. Only half kidding. Did you take any photo's that you can post? Sooner or later everyone on this forum will be faced with this job.
