I bought a 97 blazer/l35/vin w/4l60e with 230+++ miles for $1200, after driving it for a few months the engine blew(i bought the truck expecting this), i bought a used engine that came out of a 98 blazer that was wrecked w/140xxx miles (supposedly) from a reputable salvage yard locally for $350.00. And let me say this, Ive done quite a few engine replacements, and am pretty skilled mechanically and have done just about everything there is, but this is the first gm I've owned and also the first I've done this extensive of work on, and it's been complete hell for me. I've done everything my self without any help and in under less than perfect circumstances. this has by far been the most problematic vehiclebive ever worked on and on multiple occasions got close to giving up or paying someone else To fix it Not sure if it's my lack of experience with this vehicle and manufacturer or the truck or both, whatever. lol

But anyways, its cranking but won't start, also ive noticed that the key wouldn't go completely to the off position till i hit the little release button, now it will go from the off position to on and back and forth, but as long as the battery is hooked up, the lights in the instrument cluster and everywhere else wont turn off, even after the key is in the off position and removed it still acts as though its in the on position.. (fans aren't blowing though, also kind of odd) Now, i never post anything anywhere asking about anything because i usually find the answer by searching or otherwise. But I've searched and looked and studied and searched some more, and im just tired of this truck and want it to run... I haven't been able to work and have basically been stuck without transportation and its been a couple months of problems and i cant take it anymore lol. So i signed up to this forum, where I've learned a lot from, to get more specific.

Im not getting any check engine codes, probably needs to run before it registers any, but the truck won't start, i feel like it might be the passlock/passkey system but i can't perform that relearn with the key/ignition like this, or at least that's what i think? I guess it could be the ignition switch/relay but i doubt it as it worked perfectly fine before the engine swap. I don't know what to do, i need suggestions or opinions, on at least solving this issue with it not turning off, before i continue on trying to get the vehicle running.
