97 blazer shifting question (under light throttle)...
ok i did that test and it seems no matter what gear when i tap the brakes the rpms jump 100 or so, so its unlocking....what is the deal with this thing only having this problem in OverDrive? the only thing i didn't do yet is change or clean the o2s... what else can i try?
right no i just put it in 3rd and drive around until i get to about 60 then put it in over drive. this way ther rpms are well above 2k and it seems a lot better. its just when it sits between 1200 and 2200 in overdrive. its becomes a pain.

well i decided to check the tranny fluid the way the manuel says to. it was hot and engine running. there is nothing on the stick while the engine is running. with the engine off, its on the stick up to the "hot" line.... but with the engine running, nothing... does that indicate that i should add? if so how much? could this be my whole problem?
Definitely sounds like it. You should start with adding 1/2 a quart at a time until it reaches the hot line on the dipstick. Do not over fill it.
don't know why i didn't do this earlier, automatically thought it was something else. which is still might be... i added 1/2 qt. and drove around. it didn't do the normal problem, but i wasn't able to really test it. i check the level, nothing on the stick but now a little in the loop at the bottom of the stick..
well so far so good with tranny fluid actually in it. no more problems as of now.. i'm driving it about 150 miles tomorrow so i'll let you guys now if it happens anymore..
with the fluid low, why would it only cause problems in overdrive though?
