97 tranny into a 99?

Default 97 tranny into a 99?

Hey folks I need to know if a 4l60-e from a '97 will swap with a 4l60-e out of a '99. I am in need as have really bad slip and sometimes no forward in any gear other than 1st and 2nd.
This is a last staw for me as the ole girl getting expensive.

I would never go backwards... The reason for that is the minor improvements that are made through the years.

That said, it 'should' work provided that the '97 trans has the two piece main case (bell housing bolted to the front of the case).

thanks for the quick reply. Yea I am in kind of a rush as this is the only ride I got and this other is priced right and close by.
