Hi guys. New to the forums so I hope this is in the right spot. As the title says, I have a 98 Blazer 4WD with the 4.3. My front brakes have been grabbing and not wanting to release. It seems random as to when it occurs. I can be driving along and not touch the brake and I will feel them starting to grab. When this is happening, the brake pedal is very hard. If I turn the engine off and pump the brakes it sometimes goes away. It seems to affect only the front brakes(rears are discs too). I tried pulling the fuse for the ABS and it still happens. This can't be good with the heat it generates. I need to find an answer quick. I don't know if it is related, but it has also recently developed a loud rattling noise which occurs at idle whether in gear or neutral. The noise goes away when driving/accelerating. The rattling seems to come from directly below the drivers seat. Is this a transmission or transfer case problem? Thanks

I have the same sounding issue with my 2001 Blazer. Has been getting worse now makes a strange sound when driving too at times. Feels like from the front end and not all the time it happens but when it does scares me a lot! Feel like grabbing or metal under pedal hard to explain it. Backing up one side very wobbly so alignment issue too. I just dropped it off at Tires Plus closest station where would not have to walk that far back and forth. They are calling me back with estimate will let you know what they tell me. Good luck with your Blazer! I tried pumping the brakes too and it helps for a short time. Feel if I let this go would not stop at all one time and disaster.
