ive got a 98 blazer and now that i have it cranking its time to tackle the no start.. i have spark and i sprayed brake clean into the air tube assembly and it would sound like it was starting to pop over. ive checked fuel pressure a few times.. sometimes i have nothing and somtimes i do. the results i just got were...
ign on 57psi
ign off 61psi then starts to drop
after 10 min with ign off it was at around 44 psi
while cranking the psi was at about 57 psi.
ive followed the diag charts as close as i can the exeption is im turning the pump on with the ign. i came to a point where it wanted you to check psi between the fuel filter... i couldnt do this but if psi was under 60-66 i was to replace the fuel pump. and if it was in range check for a restriction in the line..
the gas is orangish and smells a little bad so i know i should drain it.. if i do a fuel pump i can do it then. im leaning in that direction..

I would lean toward a bad fuel pressure regulator (FPR).

Your pressure readings at the test port seem to be high enough to start the engine. The drop to 44psi is not all that great. I do not see any reason to drop the tank at this point. You may want to get all of that skunked gas out of there though.

ok i hooked up a fuel system cleaner to the test port. put new gas in it and set it at 60psi. pulled the fuel pump relay and attempted to start it. it would crank and that was it.. also tried cranking with it floored. ive head this is a clear flood mode. put the fuel pump relay back in and tried again and had no luck.. looped test light from the injector to the injector ground and it would flash.
