98 blazer starting woes..
i am helping a friend with his 98 blazer that wont start.. so i went through the tried and true procedures of years past.. a can of ether and a fuel pressure gauge. here's the outcome
58-60 psi fuel pressure at the Schroeder valve
starts with ether, but shuts off after the ether burns off .
so obviously its a fuel issue if it starts with ether, but shouldn't 60 psi be enough to start it? or at least keep it running after the ether turns it over?
im almost sure its the fuel pump, but wanted some clarification before i tell them to shell out $300+ for a new pump.
can someone give me their .02 cents on this one?
thanks again.
