98 Blazer Trans Overheating
I'm looking for help with a 98 Blazer with 4 wheel drive that has issues with the transmission boiling fluid out of the dip-stick vent. It has 132k miles and is used for a small amount of winter plowing. It still shifts into all gears, but will starting spouting fluid after running approximatley 20 miles. It tends to shudder when running at a steady rate of speed with an easy losd applied. I wonder if anthing can be done with pulling it out?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Anyway, the fix is have the trans serviced by a tech that knows how to operate a flush machine. Have it completely flushed & a new filter installed. If you don't get all the burnt fluid out your wasting time & money. Once it is completely serviced add a B&M SuperCooler, that will cure your problem. How do I know this is I burned the tranny fluid pulling a 5000# trailer 800 miles over several mountain passes over 6000 feet. The fluid was blowing out the overflow vent. I did as I told you & that was 30,000 miles ago & the tranny still works great. I have towed the same trailer also since then. Your looking at a few hundred dollars to service the trans & the SuperCooler can be bought from Summit Or Jegs for around $46.

It's also possible the overflow vent is clogged.
