Default Blazer LT 4x4 1999 motor/trans same as 2000 motor/trans

So my reverse gear went out so i am planning on changing the whole motor and tranny, and i found a 99 tranny/motor for a good price and am just wondering if it will fit my 2000 4x4 blazer? i need to know this within an hour so please let me no ASAP! thanks

YES! The only change from 99-00 was heavy duty suspension for 4x4s (Bilsteins) and LMC says enhancements for a 'smoother, quieter running'. Everything should hook right up though!

ok well i might have found a 98, but i called the dealership, and they said, yes, physicaly they will fit, but they could have diffrent computer settings or something like that. so if i get the 98 could i just take out the 2000, and put in the 98, and it will run fine?

also what about a 97 transmission, can i take out teh 2000 and put in the 97 and have no problems? i need help really fast!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the transmission in the '97 has a one piece case. The '98+ has a two piece case with a full front bell housing. The oil pan in the '97 is stamped steel while the 2000 is aluminum.
