Finally got enough body work done to take the truck for a short drive tonight. Didn't do drive cycle test yet, but took it down the road a couple miles. I stopped at a car wash to rinse off a years worth of garage dust. While I was driving I had my Actron scanner hooked up Battery on my laptop doesn't hold much of a charge so i couldn't use the AutoEngunity Scantool.

After I was done rinsing the truck off, while I was still in the bay I set the Actron Scanner to record. I am working on learning all the data you get, but in the meantime, I'd appreciate any input on the 3 frames I posted at the end of this. Please let me know if anything stands out to you as a problem. There is 65 frames recorded but I just listed the first one (sitting in the bay), the one at the max speed I got to, and the last one (not sure when that happened but I think I was coming to, or leaving a stop sign.

Everything seemed to run fine but man do I need to do some work on the suspension and front end components. Very loosey-goosey. Also, at the end of my drive I took a hard look at the engine. Discovered that both sets of my oil lines are leaking right where the hose goes into the crimped part. When I took the truck apart, I thought all the gunk was from a power steering leak, but apparently not. Anyway, thanks for taking a look at the data below and offering any input. Much appreciated!

Question about my headlights. I'm getting my truck inspected tomorrow (actually it is tomorrow as I post this) and I was checking everything out. As I was checking my headlights out I had 2 lights that wouldn't light up. Now I know I am probably asking a dumb question, but what are the bulbs for in the picture? I tried normal headlight, high beam, daytime running (which I didn't even know I had until I took the e-brake apart to cleaned it up) but none of the selections seemed to light these bulbs up. Everything else seemed to work...high beams, etc.

As you can see they are on the inboard part of the headlight. I noticed the mount for them is a little different in that there is a thin "shim" of metal where they rotate into the assembly (instead of just the plastic hole). Can someone clue me into when these are supposed to come on? Thanks.

EDIT: OK, I'm a moron. For whatever reason when I glanced around the corner of the front of truck I could have sworn the same bulb was burning as does for the low beam. But it was late and I was in a hurry. So, in the next post you will see where easily swartlkk points out what a moron I am.

The inner bulbs are the high beams. Outer are the low beams.

Thinking I'm going to have to replace my fuel pump. Just did the first part of the fuel leakdown test so far (62 for first 2 seconds, around 45 after 10 minutes). But I went on Rockauto .com real quick just to see how much they cost. For the AC Delco (the brand I will get if needed), for a 2 door it has this additional note: "w/o LOW LUBRICITY FUEL SYS SENDER(K55)". The pumps for the 4 doors do not have that note.

Also i look at the Delphi pump for a 2 door and it doesn't have that note. I know Delphi is the only other brand that is recommended on here to use.

So is the AC Delco the one I want...or no? Should I look for an AC Delco from another retailer that doesn't have that note (which appears to be some type of sensor I assume)?

EDIT: Just wanted to pass on to everyone why you should compare anything with rockauto.com. For the same fuel pump (2dr, same model#), one of the larger retailers price is $339.99. Rockauto $220.79. How the heck can they charge over a $100 less? That's just plain sick (in a good way).

Really ought to check pressure & leakdown at the pump. The leakdown could be the pump, or something in the plenum. Hate to spend $220 if it isn't necessary.

IF it needs a pump, the "K55" is on a sticker on the original fuel pump, (it may be an RPO code, but I'm not 100% certain of that). If it's been replaced, the only way to tell is have the dealer run your VIN. Low lubricity pump is very rare, I can't EVER remember seeing one. That's not to say you don't have it, so better check with the dealer to be sure.

Oh, I'm going to continue the fuel leakdown test. I was just curious to see how much I was looking at IF it is the pump. Thanks!
