Default 98 zr2

Just bought this thing and I am very happy, runs great. However, the remote filter housing seems to have a leak and I am not sure if it is the housing where the filter spins on to or if it is one of the hoses that is leaking. I did change the fluids and it did leak before hand as well. Do these thing have a tendency to leak and where do I find a new housing if I need one?

most likely the hoses, take the skid plate off to verify. there is 2 different sets of hoses. there is a return and the "initial. 4 hoses total. to answer if they are common. lets just say for every blazer on the road today i would bet you $100 everyone of those blazer has had at least both sets replaced once. so yes they are very common. on mine i've done them twice and its only got 120,000 miles on it. one set is easy, one set is hard. the one that doesnt go to the oil cooler is the biggest pia. on mine i had to lift the motor up to get clearance for the lines. g.l

take some degreaser (concetrated soap, simple green etc) and clean up the area. let it sit for a bit (say clean it up friday after work and check it sat evening). you should be able to pin point your leak that way.

as for changing the remote housing vs. both.... lets just say i have had 0 issues with mine. changed my houseing (crasked all to hell) and now i have 4 leaky lines. Yay summer project!
