Wish I would have known about this last winter. My ABS module somehow became internally shorted so the pump would run continuosly, even with the ignition off. After the dealer quoted me over 800 bucks for a new one I called the local salvage yard. Cost me 70 dollars for a used pump and module, but it works fine. For the extra 60 bucks though, I'd have gone with a fully reconditioned unit with warranty!

Just got my ABS Module back from ModuleMaster, and that saved me a bundle! The shop wanted to just replace the whole ABS unit ($1300 part), my ABS sensors where fine, but I found these posts just in time to give it a shot and it worked for only $130 plus shipping. Thanks to everyone who posted on this.

Sounds like I may be in the same boat with my 01 as you guys are in. I have have the ABS light on all of the time and off and on the brake light.

This all started after I replaced the front wheel bearing hubs about 1 year ago.

I tested the output of the after market sensors and it was good.

I then reinstalled the original sensors and tested them and they also checked good.

We have been driving the car with no know issue other than at times when at highway speeds we notice what I might think was a dragging on the vehicle. We see no rpm change when this happens. Could it be a bad module making a brake drag?

I am considering perchasing an ABS/odb Scan tool but maybe I just need ModuleMasters to do their thing.

I have a 2001 chev. Blazer 4dr. 4.3L 2WD with 110,000 miles I recently replaced my front right side since the wheel baring went out. I took the blazer to a break and alignment shop diagnosis was done and the guy said that the abs computer was bad. If I remember correctly I ran into this thread where this website charges $130 for the service and the only thing that we have to do is pay shipping. If anyone knows what I’m talking about, please post the site because I’m searching and can’t seem to find the site. I’m getting the same symptoms of the break light and abs light and that grinding noise that some of you are talking about.

Thanks

I'm sorry but what is the point of posting something that had literally been discussed time and time again in this very thread?
