Default accelorator pump question

85 S10 Blazer 4x4 2.8. i bought a new accelorator pump and it looks like to me that you have to remove the whole top of the carbuerator to replace it is this correct? if it is i was thinking i might as well buy a kit and rebuild the whole carb since i will have it apart anyway.

Would be a worthwhile project. You'll basically already have it apart. Might as well rebuild it.

If you decide to take it apart, take lots of pictures or you may have a problem re-assembling the linkages properly.
You actually only have to take off the air horn to replace the accellerator pump, but it's a good idea to take the carb off and do the complete cleaning and overhaul.

Just as well rebuild it if your taking the top off anyways. Most rebuild kits come with a new pump and used to only be $30-$40 and come with all the gaskets you stand a good chance of tearing up replaceing the pump alone.
