First I'd like to say hi and say you all got a great site here, now for the question. A friend of mine has a 98 blazer, 4.3, said it was getting hard to start in the mornings, after it started it ran fine and would start fine, I told her to go get the fuel presser checked( I dont have a presser cage) so any way the shop said the pump was going bad. well last week it left her settin, so she towed it home and called me. I went over and it would crank and try to fire but no go. would start with starting fluid or gas but wouldn't stay running. Got her a new pump from GM, put it in today and the same thing, no start, no run, will start with starting fluid or gas but wont stay running. Any clues? have good spark, has gas to the valve on the rail by the dist. cap. Just don't know. Man I miss carbs. lol. Thanks. (sorry bout my spelling) Oh ya, no codes

 

Have you checked the fuel filter & lines?

Edit- how much gas is in it? On my 89 S-10 the tank was empty when the gauge said 1/4 full.

ok checked fuel presser,62 key on, 58 cranking engine, holds at 55 for 10 minutes then drops to 52. replaced fuel filter because it was old raised presser about 3 to 4 psi. checked plugs and they do have gas on them, they aren't bad either. Am stumped. Have checked all the write ups on here and everything is checking out ok, Anyone have any ideas? I'm going nuts here!!
