I found I have coolant in the oil and my machanic told me I need to replace the engine. He refused to check it out to find the cause.
I see in other posts that IF it is an intake gasket oyu can replace the gasket and save the engine.
Any thoughts?

First step is to run a pressure test to find the source of the coolant leak and repair it. If the bearings have not been damaged from the water in the oil, you have saved the engine.

Yea you can replace them I always thought it was when the head gasket went bad that it caused the oil and coolant to mix.
