anybody swap 95 vortec to 98 vortec
hey anybody my 95 vortec thru a rod and i found an 98 low mileage motor anyway pulled my 95 motor set side by side pulled intake on 98 because throbody style said cpi intake could bolt on, low and behold heads on 98 intake bolts are straight down and mine 95 are 45 degree wont bolt on. my question is can i swap heads off 95 to 98 block and 98 engine block got alumium oil pan with 5 bolts ea side and mine 95 has 8 ea side so can i use 98 block and pan and just swap heads

Yes, but beware it may no run perfectly smooth because the cam is different, too, and your PCM can't compensate without some programming adjustments. It should be drivable, but you may notice some strangeness (probably a slight hesitation at tip-in, idle might lope a bit).
The 98 has better flowing heads, but then you need to run the 98 PCM and 98 tranny. OR, buy a different intake to use your 95 injection on the vortec heads and subsequently deal with even worse PCM programming problems.

Helo thanks for reply so you r saying i can put my 95 heads and cpi intake on the 98 complete long block vin w on both blocks with cam sensors plastic cover timing chain but my 95 cpm might run alittle funny because of cam and tranny differances would it be worth it or a no go adventure
