Auto to 5 speed Swap questions...
Hey fellas, I'm new to the forum, have a few questions and considerations id like to ask your input on...
I have a very clean 91 s10 blazer, 4wd, 4.3...found it with 104k original in las vegas w zero rust and mint inside. I'm at 112k now, moved to Colorado six mos ago. The motor and Trans are fine but im honestly not a fan of the auto Trans asfar as pulling the hills, pulling any kind of load(boat, toys)and I think the extra economy out of a standard Trans would do justice to the motor and my pocket.
I'm a welder and fabricator, mechanic lite, and have a good idea about the quirks of s10 blazers...so my question is;
What considers do I need to make to swap the 5 speed behind the 4.3? I realize the bell housing is diff 60/90 deg, what else will I need and will the drive shaft be the same length?
