so after buying my 2001 Zr2 from the dealership tuesday, yesterday i was driving and after i went to get something for 5 minutes i came back and the truck wouldnt start, i luckly got a jump and it started, i havent started it at all today but i dont know what it could be is it the battery? is it the alternator not holding charge? my other theory was i have 2 PIAA foglights could that be draining the battery, but i only have them on when i drive, any idea on what its is? are they wired wrong?

 

How old is the current battery? Do the lights run continuously or are they hooked up to a switch? I'd try buying a new battery, and if that one drains too, test/replace the alternator.

 

you can put a current meter in line with the positive battery terminal (10AMP scale preferred) and check the current draw yourself, (with the truck off ) that will tell you if you have a constant current draw problem. You can also disconnect the negative battery terminal while the truck is running, if it dies then the alternator is bad (because it would prove that it was running off the battery at that time).

I would try those two things, maybe they will point you in the correct direction.
