Default Bell housing

Hi! I am trying to replace my 1995 Blazer tranny with one from 1998 1500 pickup. Can anyone tell me the differences in the bellhousings and if this will work?
Thanks in advance for your help, I appreciate it!!!!

Default RE: Bell housing

Moving from a single piece main case to a two piece, the transmission lengths are different. It will bolt up. But that does not include the differences in transfer case mounting.

THIS THREAD should provide the details you are looking for. As that thread shows, it can be done, but you have to measure everything up and make sure first!

Default RE: Bell housing

Hi and thank you for your response! I needed to point out that neither the blazer or the 1500 are 4x4s. The only difference that I can see (so far) is the bellhousing for each. The one on the pickup is wider and the one in the blazer has cables that the 1500 doesn't show. I wanted to see if I can do this before I actually pull the bellhousings off.
Thanks again, I really do appreciate your help!
