Belt Routing Problem
Hey guys, my first time here, and my first post. I have a 2001 LS blazer, and (please bear with my mechanical ignorance) the belt that runs around the pullies is fine. however there is a pulley that turns, then stops, then starts turning again. it is the top right pulley. I have no idea what it is called, nor what is causing this? if anyone can help it would be much appreciated! thanks a lot
damn. AWESOME guys thats such a relief...however lol, the drive belt tensioner (according to the diagram above) kinda has some free play and shakes a little..is this normal as well?

Define "freeplay"? If while the engine is running and you notice the tensioner going back and forth about 1/2", that would be normal. Anything more and you may need to replace the belt due to stretching. Someone may come in and verify from the book how much freeplay is allowed.
