Idler Pulley came off the other day due to the bearings busting; well i swapped it out for a new one and installed it but could not for the life of me get the belt to go on. Made sure everything was grooved right and tensioner all the way down and still no dice. Took a look at it last night and thought this looked broke, it definitely isn’t lined correctly. Can i fix it without buying a new one, or just bite the bullet and get it? First car I’ve owned and actually working on myself, not to knowledgeable with this stuff.
I'd say it is likely worth replacing it. If the idler pulley was bad, then the one on the tensioner is likely not so great either. I don't think they are crazy expensive. Then you'll likely never have to worry about it ever again.
