I would recommend rebuilding it before you install it if its a 4x4 blazer as they are a royal pain in the *** to pull the motor I just did it about 2 weeks ago and now I can do it again [:@]because I took a chance at using a used engine with 68,000 miles on it which came out of my 98 s10 when I put a V8 in it and I ran the blazer for about 198 beautiful miles and then my oil pressure droped to 0 psi on idle (whats with these 4.3L v6s I have 2 of them now under 85,000 miles and there both junk ?) so now I bought a new motor from S&S Remanufactured Engines online and as soon as it gets here the process can start all over again [&:]

Have fun

It should basicaly be the same make sure if you have W motor in it now try to replace it with a W motor, its always a good thing to match the sensors to the gauges anytime I do a engine swap I try to take the stock sensors and put them in the new motor.

One thing I did notice about these is Chevy decided to make some of these 4.3L v6s with standard bellhousing and starter bolt threads and some were metric bellhousing and starter bolt threads, I found this out when I removed the v6 out of my 98 blazer and tried to bolt it the engine stand I had myother v6 from my 98 s10 on, I had to go and get new bolts to secure the blazers v6 to my engine stand as the bolts that held my other v6 were were to bigthey would not thread into the bellhousing bolt holes on the block. I had to use the bellhousing bolts from the blazer to secure the transmission to the oil pan whichI used off the blazer motor because there different then the ones onthe pickup trucks, then Iused mys10 bellhousing bolts to secure the topof the transmission to the engine [:@]what theheck were theythinking?
