Default Speed Sensor Location

I have a 1996 blazer s10 v6 4.3 ltr w/ 4wd capabilities.

I need to know where the bwd speed sensor is located at?
I look on this forum and others but all I have found is this part is on the rear of the transfer case drivers side , on the rear of the transmission on the passenger side. Both locations takes a 1" socket to take it off but the pic below is different.
my manual not much help either.
perhaps I have the wrong part even lol what I am having problems w/is one day I was in cruise control going about 60mph and all of a sudden the rmps went up and it sounded like i was not into 3rd gear anymore. Ever since then the transmission shifts from 1 to 2 but not to 3 and over drive kicks in good.

any help is appreciated thanks

James

The speed sensor is on the transfercase. The speed sensor in the picture looks like one for a 2wd that goes on the tailshaft of the transmission. If thats the only one the parts store had try a different parts store. Mine tried selling me a $40 for a 2wd 700r4 when mine took a $130 for an np231c tcase. good luck.
