Default RE: Changing Transmission Shift Points

My model #30024 would allow for changes to shift points without using the programming. Also allow for larger tires, firmer shifts, speed limiter, gear ratio, and... I can't remember, but I think I missed one or two.

You can go smaller tires, too, lol, but I think you covered pretty much everything... It also doesn't remove the speed limiter, only changes it, same goes for the rev limiter...

According to the feature chart, the programmer for the '97 us exactly the same, except for not having dual fuel tuning...

Default RE: Changing Transmission Shift Points

I used my Hypertech (for '96-97s only) to change to performance settings and adjust the tire height. Since I only use 93 octane in my truck anyway, I saw tremendous gains. However, I didn't mess with the shift points, because I wasn't sure whether I had to specify the RPMs for the shift changes. Because I didn't do this, it does feel as though it doesn't shift to 4th gear when cruising. (Why in the name of Pete did they not put a tachometer in my truck?!? My wife has one!)

Question: When you tell it to modify shift points, does it do it automatically? I tend to take a conservative approach when programming the computer, because I'm paranoid about screwing something up.
