My '96 S-10 Blazer is idling a little rough. Have tried a few different things with no luck. Think I need to clean the MAF Sensor and/or the IAC valve. What is the best way to clean these. I really don't want to have to replace them if I don't have to. Thanks.

Have you checked you spark plugs? Sometimes them misfiring can cause the engine to run a little rough but if there fine the MAF would be a good start.

Can someone please give me a simple walk-thru on how to get to, remove, and clean the IAC valve. Not exactly sure how to do this. If anyone has some tips, please advise. Thank you.

The IAC valve is located on the driver side of the throttle body directly behind the TPS (throttle position sensor). It is held in by two torx screws and can be removed without removing the throttle body. Just be careful with the screws. It should slide right out the side.
I find it best to remove the whole throttle body (which is covered in the Tech Article section) so that you can thoroughly clean the whole thing. The only thing that may be a bit of a pain is the cruise control cable, but on the '96 model, I think it just snaps off. I think it wasn't until the 98+ models that it had a little plastic c-clip. Rotate the throttle shaft around until you can pull the throttle cable out enough to pull it out of the side of the cam it sits on. All of the other brackets, etc just unbolt.

Thanks. So far I just cleaned the MAF Sensor, and cleaned the throttle body as best I could without removing it. I ran Sea Foam in the fuel, oil, and through the brake booster line and now the Blazer is running like it is brand new. Thanks for the tips and advice.
