couple problems going on

hi guys,
im not very car savvy but i do know basics and few other things here and there but i cannot figure some things out. i have a 98 blazer with about 121k miles on it. i have been doing some tune ups within the past couple months including spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter. the past month is when i did the oil change with oil filter and air filter and i started to notice a decrease in gas mileage. i noticed a little after plugs,wires,cap and rotor but nothing major. i was getting almost 300 miles on my 18 gal tank but now its closer to 260 or less. also in the morning on my way to school i noticed my car shudders. i use cruise control and im usually going about 60mph. i figured that was because it was cold but then today i heard a whining noise coming from the engine cabin and the loudness of the whine went with how fast i was going. the faster i went the louder the whine was and vise versa. i did not however really notice it after class but it may of just been quieter because the weather was warmer than this morning. it also does not shudder later in the day, only in the morning when i first drive. i thought it was just cause of the cold but i tried warming it up first this morning rather than just taking off and i had it running for about 5-10 min. im not sure what could cause the low gas mileage, shuddering, and whining: if theyre not related to each other or if they are. i have heard and read somethings that maybe vacuum leak or torque converter? any input is greatly appreciated!
oh also since i got the car, when i would go over 2500 rpm the engine gets real loud like its about to shift but it takes awhile to shift and i dont really gain much speed or acceleration. same thing if i floor it, i feel like its not accelerating like it should, theres not much speed increase just alot of noise.

oh also i forgot to mention when i turn the steering wheel either way, whether moving or not, there is a knocking noise. i notice more when stopping because of other noise around. sorry for all this information and alot to read!
